Live and learn
He was giving example related to musim rule of leaving shoes in front of mosque. Often, when you leave your shoes by the door of mosque, on your way out when you attempt to find your boots, you notice other shoes. Some newer, cleaner, shinier, and next to it yours, one you assume to be ok, now look old and worn out. Normally you wouldn’t realize that, however, when your shoes are directly placed next to these newer, nicer, obvious difference strikes eyes directly. And soon after that, on your way back, you come to thought of getting new shoes or at least cleaning up one you have.Shaikh Husein related the same deal with a dirty car parked next to a new one. You can drive around for weeks with feelig of having great car, but once you park your car next this newly washed or bought, you can really see the difference.
Same is with heart. I am humbly-proud person, considering myself as relatively good, aware of own frailty with some inclinations and fracture points, but what I normally may consider by minor mistakes within me, become abyss in present of really good souls.
One may thinks that heart and deen is in a perfectly okay state, until gets comperision with other, really pure heart. And all of a sudden, revaluating starts, perhaps you are not as good as you imagined. Unlike shoes, heart can’t be disposed and exchanged to new one, but still can be ‘cleaned’. Therefore, moral of a story is: to seek company of good people, good deeds, knowledge and make an afford of own insight, with out fear of facing even inconvenient truths about yourself. At the end, to err is human yet truth can set man free as it has no fear of critique…
